- Frontiersman. celebrated hero, warrior, and backwoods statesman, was born August 17, 1786 in a small cabin on the banks of the romantic Nolichucky River, near the mouth of Limestone Creek, which today lies about three and a half miles off 11-E Highway near Limestone, Tennessee. He volunteered for the Alamo and died, on Mar.6, 1836.

- John Sevier
- The first Governor of Tennessee, (the only Governor of The State of Franklin), a soldier, frontiersman, and a leader. He owned 37 acres of land. His first wife was Sarah Hawkins, and his second wife was Bony Kate. There were eight restored houses he lived in. Sevier fought at Boyd's Creek, and King's Mountain and won against the Cherokees . He strongly supported The War of 1812.

- Born March 26 ,1749 died March 21 ,1800. He fought in The American Revolution, and was a delegate to Congress, in 1782-1783 and 1786-1787. He was also governor of Tennessee.

- Dolly Rebecca Parton
- Born on January 19, 1946 in Sevier County, Tennessee. "I grew up in the shadows of the Great Smoky Mountains, and have always been thankful for the chance to call this place home." There were 12 children all together. 6 girls and 6 boys (though her brother Larry died during birth), and Dolly was the fourth child.
- Barefoot, Dolly stands 5 ft tall. In heels and hair, 6 ft. 1. Dolly's first public appearance was at the age of ten, when she sang the George Jones song "You Gotta Be My Baby" on The Cass Walker Show. She moved to Nashville to become a star the day after she graduated from High School. By 1975, she was nationally known as a solo artist.

- The King of Rock N Roll, in the humblest of circumstances, was born shortly before dawn, to Vernon and Gladys Presley in a two-room house in Tupelo, Mississippi on January 8, 1935.
- Although Elvis was not born in Tennessee, he was one of Tennessee's most outstanding personalities
- Elvis recorded and sold more albums than any other recording artist in the world.
- His talent, good looks, sensuality, charisma, and good humor endeared him to millions, as did the humility and human kindness he demonstrated throughout his life. Known the world over by his first name, he is regarded as one of the most important figures of twentieth century popular culture. Elvis died at his Memphis home, Graceland, on August 16, 1977.
