May 5 Tanger Five Oaks Run for the Bears
A 5K race through Sevierville benefiting orphaned and injured bears at the Appalachian Bear Center.
May 8 - 10 B.A.S.S. MegaBucks Tournament - Douglas Lake
This grueling five-day elimination tournament was designed as two competitions in one big event - one for professionals and one for amateurs. All 150 pros and 150 amateurs fish the first three days. The pros are pitted against each other for $539,000 in cash and prizes, while the amateurs compete for a total purse of $82,000 in cash and prizes.
May 12 - 13 B.A.S.S. MegaBucks Tournament - Final Round
Spectators can actually see the drama unfold before their eyes in the final two days of competition. The top 10 pros will do battle in a rod-to-rod duel as it's played out on 10 fishing holes, golf-course style, with a 50-minute limit at each hole. When the smoke has cleared, only one pro will emerge to take the spoils of $125,000 in cash and prizes and the MegaBucks' crown.
