Hard Sauce
- 1 stick butter softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 egg white
Mix all together, egg last, till creamy, put in log shape on wax
or tinfoil, roll into a log shape, should be 1-1/2 inch diameter
approximately. Cover and put in fridge, slice in 1/4 inch slices
and serve... with pie. This is an old recipe from the 1920's
White Sauce
- 3 tbs. margarine
- 3 tbs. flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- salt & pepper to taste
Melt margarine in a saucepan & blend in flour. Stir
continuously as you pour milk slowly into mixture. Add
salt & pepper as desired. For a thicker sauce, reduce
milk to 1 cup.
Cheese Sauce
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 lb. Velveeta cheese
- 1/2 cup margarine
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Cook over low heat
until melted & well blended. Good served over broccoli or
cauliflower.
